What it is like to work here
We are based in Isando, Johannesburg, and support customers across Gauteng and nationwide for cutter installs and training. Our day-to-day work includes machine setup, media handling, blade pressure checks, registration calibration, operator training and troubleshooting, so attention to detail matters from the first job of the morning to the last. We work with businesses that rely on clean results under deadline pressure, and that means steady hands and a practical mindset.
Load-shedding, tight turnaround times and humid coastal deliveries all play a part in real production planning. If you enjoy solving problems and keeping things moving, you will fit in well here.
Roles we commonly hire for
We do not keep a generic call for every type of role. Instead, we look for people with experience in the areas that keep our service tight and reliable. Depending on growth and workload, we may hire for production, installs, technical support, training and sales support.
- Production assistants who can load media, prepare jobs and keep finish work neat
- Installation technicians for cutter installs and on-site setup across South Africa
- Technical support staff who can assist with setup questions and fault finding
- Training coordinators and operators who can guide clients through workflows
- Sales support people who understand the detail behind print-and-cut solutions
Skills that help you stand out
We value experience, but we also value attitude. If you are methodical, communicate clearly and can follow a process without cutting corners, that goes a long way. A background in signage, print finishing, vinyl work, machine setup or field service is useful. So is the ability to explain technical steps in simple language.
- Good eye for detail and clean workmanship
- Comfortable working with your hands and basic tools
- Willingness to learn new setup methods and workflows
- Respect for safety, equipment care and client sites
- Ability to work with deadlines without becoming careless
How to send your CV
If you would like to be considered, email your CV to cut@contourcutting.co.za. Include a short note telling us what type of role you are looking for, where you are based, and what experience you have with cutters, installs, production or training. If you have worked in Isando, Sandton, Midrand, Germiston, Boksburg or Randburg, mention that too.
Please keep the subject line clear, for example: CV - Technical Support or CV - Production. If you have certificates, a portfolio or a list of past systems you have worked on, attach those as well. We review applications as they come in.
Training and growth on the job
New team members may be exposed to operator induction, artwork cut lines, media loading, blade pressure setup, registration calibration, production workflows, maintenance basics, troubleshooting sessions, remote refresher support and supervisor coaching. That hands-on approach helps people learn the full process, not just one task.
We like people who want to build proper experience over time. A steady learner with good habits often grows quicker than someone who only wants shortcuts.
Why people join us
Contour Cutting is a small enough team for people to know what they are responsible for, but busy enough to keep work varied. You may be helping on a client call in the morning, checking a machine setup after lunch and preparing for an installation later in the week. There is real value in doing work that customers can see and use straight away.
Our team includes Sibusiso Nkosi, Lerato Mokoena, Johan van Wyk, Ayanda Dlamini, Nadia Jacobs, Thabo Molefe and Ridwaan Daniels, and everyone is expected to pull their weight. If you want practical work with room to learn, send through your CV and let us know where you can add value.
